Welcome to The Phunky Bitches - an online community dedicated to bettering the live music scene by forming a women-oriented network of social friends. Since our inception in 1997, many strong friendships and powerful alliances of tour buddies have been formed. Many young women have been enjoying better concert going experiences as a result. We have transcended the limitations of the internet in many cases and become real life friends. We travel together, hook each other up with rides, tickets, and a place to crash when visiting. While this can be intimidating to new members, we always welcome new friends with similar interests and lifestyles. Online aspects of this group include the message board and the mailing list.

We have a few guidelines for posting and membership to either Group:

1. The Phunky Bitches is an organization with a family-friendly and open mentality. We also enjoy discussions of varying topics- ranging from radical political views to alternative lifestyles. We aim to learn from each other’s experiences and encourage exchanging ideas. Therefore, the ideas expressed by an individual member in no way reflect the opinions of the group at large, or the organization, or any of its contributors or owners.

2. Your membership is an agreement. Each new member is interviewed by telephone to verify identity. Membership is granted only to those who agree to and behave according to this Charter and can be revoked at the owners’ discretion.

3. No members under age 18.

4. There is to be no discussion of any personal illegal activity on this Board or the List.

5. Flames or flame-baiting will not be tolerated.

6. We realize that personal problems may result among members. We ask that the people involved try and work them out in a civil and mature manner. The moderators and administrators will try and help out, but we are not responsible for the behavior of any member.

7. Any posts deemed inappropriate by the moderators or administrators will be removed without discussion. Members who persist in breaking these guidelines or by harassing another member, the moderators, and/or administrators may have their membership temporarily suspended or revoked as determined in a case-by-case evaluation.

8. All rights are reserved. Permission to use any graphics or intellectual property (trademark, logo, etc.) from this website must be obtained from the administrators.

9. No Ticket Scalping! No Ticket or Music Grovels! Forums are available for ticket sales. You may not ask for more than face value and fair shipping. Please check the music forum when looking to offer or request a trade.

10. Phunky Bitch Gatherings, formal or informal, are attended only at an individual member’s discretion. The Phunky Bitch organization is not responsible for the action of any member at any time.

11. Anchoring a show is a fantastic volunteer activity. This should only be done by members who are sober and responsible. Those anchoring will not hold the PB Organization responsible for any accident or other incident arising from being an anchor. Volunteering to anchor implies that one agrees to abide by all PB rules as well as respecting artist and venue/facility rules.

DISCLAIMER: The List Managers take no responsibility for content; the PHISH-WOMEN@lists.netspace.org mailing list and the message board is an open forum, and exists to provide a wide variety of support for its members. The List Managers will not implement a definition of "civility" which is more restrictive than the obvious (profanity directed at a person, for instance). The List Managers ask that each member act with respect for their fellow members.
